In 2005, SAHF members spent $65 million on energy. Tenants contributions to energy bills added several million more. These costs place stress on owners, tenants, and government agencies that make housing affordable to low income seniors and workers. Energy bills threaten affordability for all, and inefficient buildings contribute to global warming.
